There is only one hair treatment method that has consistently produced "Passes" on the hair drug test and we want to show you how you can pass your test too.
Instead of freaking out, here are the five things you need to do immediately to pass a hair drug test.
1. Stop using drugs immediately
It may sound obvious but the first thing you should do is quit using drugs. You’re only adding to the problem at this point. Stop using and start letting your body detox.
It takes 7 – 10 days for hair that is below the scalp to grow out of your skin. You’re actually better off taking drugs a day or two before a hair drug test than you are not stopping and getting some good clean growth to submit to the drug testing lab.
Your goal is to give a hair sample that has as much drug-free growth as possible. This should start the moment you become aware that you will be taking a hair follicle drug test.
2. Educate yourself about how to pass a hair drug test
This is one of the most difficult parts of taking control of your hair drug test. There is so much misinformation out there about hair follicle drug testing.
If you arm yourself with knowledge, it’s so much easier to figure out what your chances are to pass a hair drug test.
One of the most earth-shattering pieces of knowledge that you can find out about hair drug testing for marijuana is that most people have a pretty good chance to beat the hair drug test doing absolutely nothing at all.
3. Delay the hair drug test
Delaying when you submit your sample is one of the easiest and most effective ways of helping you pass a hair drug test. It just makes sense. If the test goes back 90 days, the closer you can come to 90 days clean, the better your chances to pass a hair drug test. It’s that simple.
If you need to pass a hair drug test as part of pre-employment, you have so many ways of delaying the test it’s only a matter of your own creativity.
My personal favorite tactic is to draw out the interview process if you know that the eventual job offer will contingent on passing a hair drug test. When they call and ask if you can come in for an interview on Tuesday, tell them that you’ll be out of town (or whatever plausible excuse works) and get it delayed until the following week. You just bought yourself another week of clean time.
Another opportunity that many people overlook in delaying their hair drug test is during the negotiation phase. You passed all of the interviews and they send you over a job offer which clearly states that the offer if contingent on you passing a hair drug test, now it’s time to drag the process out a little longer by negotiating.
You can commonly negotiate:
You can even buy time by asking them to clarify various aspects of the offer like when health benefits will begin or how the 401k works.
If you take advantage of every opportunity to slow the process down, you can buy yourself anywhere from a few weeks to the full 90 days you need to pass a hair drug test.
4. Determine your clean time
A big factor in whether or not you pass a hair drug test is how much clean hair growth you have to submit.
To determine your clean time, take the date of your last drug usage and add 7 – 10 days to that. As I mentioned previously it takes 7 – 10 days for the hair under your scalp to poke it’s head above the skin. If you smoked today, the contaminated hair won’t have emerged from your scalp for a week or so.
Now you know what your clean time is. Everything else you do should take this number into consideration. If you last smoked some weed exactly 40 days ago and you subtract 10 days from that, it means that you have 30 days or clean hair. Since you need 90 days, this arms you with the knowledge you may need in delaying your drug hair test enough to have 90 days of clean hair.
5. Assess your true risk factor
Unfortunately, there are all sorts of myths out there about how effective hair drug tests are. Some people will say that hair drug tests can go back years. Some will say that hair drug tests can tell if you smoked even a single joint. It’s all BS.
The good news is that if you smoke weed, the hair follicle drug test is not very good at detecting infrequent use. Even the drug testing companies admit this (quietly in research papers).
You also need to understand what the level of detection (LOD) is. Running a CSI level drug test on your hair is very expensive so labs, generally, do a much cheaper test which is less accurate and has a much higher LOD than the more expensive test.
You don’t have to test 100% negative to pass a hair drug test. All you need to do is be below the LOD.
Having a firm understanding of what your true risk factor is will be of significant importance when determining what you have to do to pass the hair drug test. If you’re high risk, you’ll want to take more aggressive approaches. If you’re low risk, you may not even need to do anything.
Knowledge is the key.
